A little looky at how things are getting on....

The last time we looked at them they were leeetle seedlings, now, they're slightly bigger seedlings! But, they are well protected from cats and birds at least:

Do you like my swirly planting?! I'm actually really pleased they popped up in formation! Originally there was a swirly one, a straight one and another swirly one on the other side, but the cats/birds put pay to that!.....Not bitter at all

These are my star pupils of the Sugar Snap Pea class! I have around 8 plants altogether but these ones are the most photogenic

Chives! Rhubarb! Blackcurrants!

I've been dissatisfied by my rhubarb for the last few days, then I looked at an older blog post of them and was surprised at how much it had grown! Well done rhubarb!

Comparisons to a London garden

This week I have been mainly recovering from a weekend of heavy drinking in London, at London Roller Girls' first WFTDA sanctioned bout! It was pretty exciting, and I came away with a lot of merch, albeit merch I can't really afford....I'd better get a bumper crop this year! We stayed at a good friend of mines house in Kentish Town where I was surprised to see the loveliest of gardens. A little bigger than mine, and much more efficiently used, my friends next door neighbour Jack has a great garden.

Brassicas, rosemary, mint, parsley (visable at the back)          Here a strawberry planter and an exciting arch!
This was on my friends side of the garden - spotted right after a discussion about how they'd like a little herb garden - here's some Thyme to start them off!

A long view of my friends half of the garden, but with a little bit that's been 'pinched' by Jack next door (I expect this time next year he'll have convinced them to let him have the whole thing!)
Finally we have this little fella...A plant I recognise but couldn't possibly name as I bought one myself, but lost the little tag that tells you what it is! This specimen of Jacks looks unbelievably beautiful, and when those buds open it'll be even more gorgeous! Let's compare it to mine....

A little on the disappointing side in comparison....If anyone knows what this plant is and has any inkling as to how to care for it...I'd be grateful to hear from ya!

Wow it's been ages!

Okay okay, so I know it's been a long time since my last post, and lots of stuff has happened! I've been itching to get online and posting but alas, an evil evil virus invaded my computer, and post fixing hasn't wanted to co-operate with any of my technology! So here I am camping out on my brothers computer getting all my computery stuff done!

At the weekend I was partially a dragger and draggee to Plants Galore! which is just about 2 miles from my place of work, and supposedly the largest plant warehouse in Europe (not sure about this claim), however, I did end up buying A LOT of stuff, some not necessary, some vital, and all in all ended up costing me about £55! Eeeek, my bank balance didn't really enjoy that, but here's some of the stuff I bought and planted:

A hanging basket made up with pansies (FREE from Plants Galore - maybe they saw the despair on my face from having spent so much?) and some lovely looking ivy.

More FREE pansies! I really was taken with the free pansy offer, so loaded up with 6 trays, my mum planted this pot for me on Mother's Day, which should have been called 'Get Your Mum To Help With Your Garden Day', in my case anyway....

I planted this one up, and I'm rather proud of it...bet you can't guess what's in it and how much it cost?!?!

Thought I'd give you an update on the old rhubarb. I've liberated it from it's terracotta prison to see the light (on my mum's advice), and it's seems to be doing really rather well, looking forward to getting a few more stems so I can eat it all up!

I was made to buy this raspberry plant by The Benchmaker, it'll bear yellow raspberries, so I think that's quite exciting, not sure how far in the distant future that will be but I'm happy at the prospect nonetheless!

And lastly, my growing kitchen herb garden, from front to back, Thyme (two pots), Dill (new), Sage (new), Rosemary, Mint (grown from a supermarket pot) and Parsley, which took a big pruning this weekend as it was in danger in encroaching in on everything in the garden!

Hopefully on Monday I'll have a bunch more to update as I'm going away this weekend for a couple of days, and I will be able to see any marked growth or damage sustained to the garden....
