At the weekend I was partially a dragger and draggee to Plants Galore! which is just about 2 miles from my place of work, and supposedly the largest plant warehouse in Europe (not sure about this claim), however, I did end up buying A LOT of stuff, some not necessary, some vital, and all in all ended up costing me about £55! Eeeek, my bank balance didn't really enjoy that, but here's some of the stuff I bought and planted:
A hanging basket made up with pansies (FREE from Plants Galore - maybe they saw the despair on my face from having spent so much?) and some lovely looking ivy.
More FREE pansies! I really was taken with the free pansy offer, so loaded up with 6 trays, my mum planted this pot for me on Mother's Day, which should have been called 'Get Your Mum To Help With Your Garden Day', in my case anyway....
I planted this one up, and I'm rather proud of it...bet you can't guess what's in it and how much it cost?!?!
Thought I'd give you an update on the old rhubarb. I've liberated it from it's terracotta prison to see the light (on my mum's advice), and it's seems to be doing really rather well, looking forward to getting a few more stems so I can eat it all up!
I was made to buy this raspberry plant by The Benchmaker, it'll bear yellow raspberries, so I think that's quite exciting, not sure how far in the distant future that will be but I'm happy at the prospect nonetheless!
And lastly, my growing kitchen herb garden, from front to back, Thyme (two pots), Dill (new), Sage (new), Rosemary, Mint (grown from a supermarket pot) and Parsley, which took a big pruning this weekend as it was in danger in encroaching in on everything in the garden!
Hopefully on Monday I'll have a bunch more to update as I'm going away this weekend for a couple of days, and I will be able to see any marked growth or damage sustained to the garden....
